Ivy Allsop is a poet based in the North East of England, where she is finishing her PhD thesis in Creative Writing at Durham University. She wants to destroy the established conception of ‘difficulty’ as it relates to the idea of reading poetry, and to be devastating in all facets of life.
Her work focuses on linguistic breakdown, alienation and the impossibility of utterance in the face of atrocity.
She released her debut chapbook, The Wreckage of Dam, (which she started in a dismal office job) with Salò Press in 2022.
